I chose Kami as my digital tool because it is a game changer. If you didn’t use this in Distance Learning already, you will definitely want to use it this fall. It was the perfect tool to transition from in school to at home online work. However we start school this year, I will continue to use this amazing tool.
Kami is your digital classroom game changer! According to the website,

document into an interactive learning experience.

- Students can mark up a text easily with the pen and paper tools
Where do I begin?
You and the students can follow these simple instructions:
1. Open Chrome
2. Click :chrome extension to add to browser
3. Search for Kami
4. Choose “Add to Chrome” on the right of the App
5. Use your Providence google account to sign on (students too)
How do I upload PDF files to Kami?
***Important when creating an assignment***
1. Go to extension bar and click on the Kami icon
2. Click on “OPEN FROM COMPUTER”
3. You probably already have files on your computer
- teacher pay teacher documents,
- books that are on line
- worksheets that you’ve made in the past
***remember, we are not reinventing the wheel!***
You might have to make an old fashioned worksheet digital
Here’s how:
If you own a scanner, scan it in, give it a name
and upload it right to google drive or to your computer. OR
Take a picture with your phone or tablet/ipad, email it to your ppsd or gmail and download to your computer.
From your computer files download to google drive.
Once your file is on your computer---
You’ll need to uploaded it to kami
-- Simply click the download icon to add it Kami
Then download the file to the google drive

I want to assign a page from the file I downloaded but the whole book is coming up.
Now what?
It’s called Split & Merge, located in top right corner of Kami app
Now let’s assign it --Once your document is downloaded ….
Go into your google classroom and create an assignment
When creating an assignment that you want the students to interact with,
always choose Kami
What the student sees:
If the student has Kami as an extension, the assignment will come up as a PDF
to be viewed by Kami
In order for students to interact with the document, they must open it
by clicking on the Kami icon.
***students must have this added as an extension***

What!!! I use kami in my ED classes for digital highlighting and marking little notes as I go through so I wouldn't forget. But I can see this as a total game changer in the classroom. Thanks Sue!
