Introduction

Hi, my name is Susan Connole.  I am married for 27 years to my loving and wonderful husband, Ryan.  We have 3 sons, Seamus 26, Connor 23, and Emmett 22.  They are all healthy and productive workers.  Our 3 year old dog, Finn, is a Shetland Sheepdog.  We love walking him in the many trails in Northern R.I.  As a family we love the outdoors.  We've been camping since the boys were little and now, as young adults, they enjoying camping with their friends.

I teach 4th grade at Anthony Carnevale Elementary School in Providence for the last 8 years.  I began my teaching career as a Pre-K teacher at St. Augustine's Elementary School in Providence right after I graduated from RIC.  It was shortly after that I got married and began my family.  I stayed home for a few years and then got called back to a daycare I worked at through college, Breezy Knoll Child Care Center.  Here I taught Kindergarten.  I worked there for a few years before moving on to teach in Providence.  I thoroughly enjoy my job and my students, which is why I decided to obtain a graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).  I just completed that program and this class is one of three needed to obtain my masters.  I'm looking forward to learning about digital social media.  I consider myself somewhat tech savvy, so I'm hopeful the challenge won't be to difficult.

As I take on this last leg of my journey through graduate school, I am realizing I will always be taking courses to keep current in the profession.  Technology and knowledge are forever changing, advancing and as an educator, it is my job to stay current.

  2. Hi Susan I don't know if you remember me but I remember you from a long time ago when I met you at my cousin Beth's house! I also noticed today you mentioned that you lived in Smithfield, which is where I still live...small town! I think my friends used to babysit your boys haha (If I am remembering correctly). Anyways, hope all is well with you and your family!
